S2 Ep: 04 - Patriarchal Politics
STEM major and K-pop aficionado Jazlynn arrives at The Modern Queer and brings some juicy conversations. Science, love languages, self-improvement, and patriarchal misogynoir abound. So, what’s the difference between the male and female gaze? Did Chris Rock deserve to be slapped? Why does Neil hate the winter? And is assault different for straight and queer people?
S2 Ep: 05 - Dating Hygienics
It's a conversation between hosts on the fifth episode of Season 02. Xzavier finally reveals his pet peeve, and Neil discusses why he hates Spring. Work-life balance keeps the calm, and questions about straight men's sexual desires ups the anty. But as queer men, what exactly goes into having sex? And what is or isn't on the menu to bypass fudge city when going on dates?
S2 Ep: 06 - Straights vs. Gays
Rapper and The Laid Back Ass Podcast host Figga Da Kid, along with The Ray Podcast creator and event host Rayvon Taylor, arrive to ask all the questions straight men have about queerness. Figga reveals his desire to be the father of a gay child, and Rayvon wonders why queer and straight men are constantly at odds. So, it's up to Neil and Xzavier to set the record gay as the group figures out the biggest question: what is considered gay? And why don't Flint brands sell gay merch? Laugh-out-loud antics are intermixed in an insightful conversation between straight and gay men.
S2 Ep: 07 - Love Languages
On the season finale, Xzavier and Neil are joined by university student D'Angelo Gillespie and freelance artist Greg Hayes to talk all things queer. The group dives into gay stereotypes, personal and preferred preferences, and some juicy lustful desires. Nothing is off limits, and everything is on the table. Because "when you gay, you wanna be gay. And if a n*gga do got a problem with you being gay, it's because he gay." And that's on periodt.
